Tony Turnbull is a highly respected police practices expert with over 31 years of real-world experience in law enforcement, criminal investigations, and police procedures. His distinguished career includes supervisory leadership and specialized expertise in jails, patrol, gangs, narcotics, violent crimes, and homicide investigations.

As an instructor for the POST Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation, Tony trains law enforcement professionals across California in modern policing standards and best investigative practices. He provides expert witness testimony and consulting services in both civil and criminal litigation, offering clear, methodical, objective opinions grounded in law enforcement standards, policy compliance, and constitutional policing. He also provides expert review of historical police investigations, applying current or past professional standards to cases.
